2018’s Top Wedding Trend Predictions

UK weddings are still on the rise, with the average spending per couple for 2017 up 9.6 per cent on the year before at £27,000. This amount is set to rise once again for next year. There are more and more exciting trends emerging for the year ahead. Read on as we take a look at the hottest wedding trend predictions for 2018.

Colour Injections

Gone are the days of white and cream. In 2018, we will see more experimental colour schemes, with a definite trend towards bright colours. This may include coloured tablecloths, decorations, and flowers. Some trend watchers are even saying that brightly coloured dresses will be commonplace next year!

Wellness

Wellness is a general cultural trend that has been growing and becoming a part of our lives for the past three decades, and there’s a particular fervour for it among today’s millennials. This means we can expect weddings to reflect this trend with “wellness” additions. This might mean vegan-only menus, a reduced emphasis on drinking alcohol, and maybe even yoga and meditation areas.

Nature Inspired

Greenery was a major trend for 2017, and it’s getting even bigger in 2018! This will mean even more greenery in terms of table decorations. It will also mean more outdoor weddings and even outdoor receptions with couples dancing the night away under the stars. Forest-themed weddings will mean vine-covered seating and flowery wedding arches and pagodas as well as photos being taken in natural settings. This will make venues that are already within a green area, such as a Forest of Dean hotel, extremely popular choices for brides and grooms looking to surround themselves in nature. Those looking to a wedding hotel venue in the Forest of Dean or a similar conservation area should think about booking their venue soon as these popular venues will be booking up fast.

New entertainment

Coming up with bigger and better ways to entertain guests is a continuing trend that simply isn’t going anywhere. Once a simple bar sufficed as entertainment, then came the photo booth, and next year you can expect to pet animals, watch fire shows and even do some circus skills.

Whether it’s greenery, colour or wellness, you can expect to see some of these trends at a wedding you attend next year.
