Having said that, it does tend to use similar techniques to capture the attention of passers-by, like the use of high resolution images, and it also works best when strong calls to action are employed.

But outdoor advertising is different because it’s used outdoors and the environments in which they’re placed often give them a more prominent effect. For instance, when an eye-catching banner or poster is hung from a wall, it stands out and gets noticed, and as it’s more permanent, it therefore isn’t here one moment and gone the next.
